In 2011, Jonathan entered the healthcare industry as a developer for The Children's Hospital of Alabama, one of the top 10 pediatric medical centers in the US. There he worked closely with nurses and physicians, developing custom integrated solutions for their inpatient system. A focus of his work was directed at improving and optimizing the workflow of physician documentation. While at COA, many of the solutions he developed were showcased by the EHR vendor at conferences and in webinars.
From 2010 to 2012, Jonathan worked as an independent contract developer under the company name JAB Software Solutions. In this role he was a freelance programmer on Elance.com, which is now Upwork. He worked with various clients to deliver Windows application solutions using C# .NET. He was the sole resource for these projects, working directly with the client to gather requirements, scope, estimate, develop, test, and deliver.
In late 2012, Jonathan joined Allscripts Healthcare Solutions as a Custom Services Architect, delivering custom integrated solutions for clients all over the US and globally. This role involved direct client consulting work, implementations, and internal content development. His work shifted from being primarily MLM development, as it had been at Children's of Alabama, to more .NET development, creating custom application extensions on top of the core Allscripts product and doing integrations with other products.
In 2020, Jonathan re-joined The Children's Hospital of Alabama as an Enterprise Data Architect to design and build out the organization's Enterprise Data Warehouse. He also worked as the data migration resource for a company wide system conversion initiative.
